Sunrise Sunday With French Toast Hash Browns

Most physique conscious individuals gave up the idea of french toast. By using whole grain bread and eggs it can be added back into your menu. It is served with an ice cream free sundae and perfect for a post morning workout meal.

Prep Time: 15-30 minutes

Ingredients

Sunrise Sundae

1/4 c apple (diced)
1/2 c 1% cottage cheese
1/4 c nectarine diced
1/2 c 0% greek yogurt
1/4 c strawberries (sliced)
1/2 c 1% cottage cheese
1/4 c grapes
1/4 c unsalted nuts

French Toast

1 slice Whole grain bread
1/4 c egg substitute or whites
dash cinnamon
dash salt
olive oil cooking spray


Directions:

For the Sundae:

Place all the apple pieces in the bottom of the bowl. Layer the rest of the ingredients on top as they appear in the list.

For the French Toast:

Cur the bread into 1 inch square cubes. Wisk the egg, cinnamonand salt together in a bowl and place the cubes in the bowl. Let them soak for 30 seconds. Preheat a non-stick frying pan and coat lightly with spray. Empty the egg and bread mixture into the pan, mixing as little as possible. Let it brown evenly on all sides. Serve hot with the sundae.
