My initial meeting with Niki to review what I was looking to get out of our training sessions became a shopping list of my needs.  I had never really worked out with weights in my life.  I feel intimidated by the thought even though I knew it had to be done.  I had not a lick of balance and have no idea where it had gone to I just knew my balance was gone.  My ultimate goal was to get healthy having been just recently told at age 36 I had diabetes.  I also wanted to be strong enough to open a jar with out using rubber gloves. 
 
So off we went for the torture to begin.  Over the course of the next few weeks I began to dread the day after our workouts more then the workouts themselves.  My comfort level around the machines increased with every session as did my results.  I started to notice I did have balance and abdominal muscles after all.  I just needed to find them.  We didn't take time out of the sessions to do cardio since I could do that during my own time and we really concentrated on weights and toning.  Over all I have not lost a great deal of weight per se but I am a few sizes smaller and have lost 14 inches off my waist and hips alone.  More importantly I feel better and I am looking better every week.  The compliments are constant from even those that see me on a daily basis the difference is that noticeable.  I have not yet reached my ultimate goal yet but I am learning the tools necessary to get there.  I can not describe in words how much healthier I feel as a result of the exercise.  Now I am ready to really work adding the diet to the mix and begin to try the weights on my at least once a week.  I am learning so much in a relaxed environment that is one on one and you never feel you are being judged or looked down upon for not knowing something or not being able to handle something. 
 
I moved from the Northeast where a majority of the year I was bundled up under layers of clothing to a place where it is too hot to wear more then one layer of clothing most of the year.  That would be enough motivation for most to get off the couch and do something active.  I mean who doesn't want to look good and when you can't hide it under a winter sweater you have to face it yourself.  I know it was enough for me to get the ball rolling and Niki is constantly giving me new ways to accomplish that so I am not even close to getting bored with exercise.  Certainly not afraid to push me she is able to see even before I do when I am ready for more difficult exercise or if something is too much for me at a given time.  Lord knows she doesn't let me whine but is able to pick from watching my muscles as they do an exercise what is working and what isn't right for me thank heavens because I can be too shy to say something sometimes. 

Overall I know we are far from finished by I actually look forward to working out and getting stronger because I have already seen amazing results both physically and mentally.

We could not have gotten in shape for our wedding without you.  You pushed is even when all you heard was whining, whining and some more whining….We are so very happy with the results and I was able to train to complete my first half marathon for charity.  You are the Best!

I've been working with Niki now for about 10 years.  She has been very patient and diligent with me as I had a bad  lower back that needed work.  She customized my workouts such that my entire body has progressed nicely  and my core strengthened.  My back pain has completely subsided  over time.  Niki really figured out which exercises would help me and it has worked.  She's also a lot of fun  to be with and the workouts go by fast!!

I was referred to Niki almost two years ago. She came highly recommended by a co-worker who felt Niki would be instrumental in helping me with strength training of my lower back.  Twenty years ago, I was an avid runner and slipped a disc. Since the injury, my back would act up on occasion and make life’s daily tasks such as housecleaning, sitting, getting dressed or even just walking extremely uncomfortable. I had tried medications, alternative medicine, chiropractic techniques, acupressure, and massage during the most aggravating times. Then came Niki… she was full of invaluable information on the importance of strengthening muscles to improve my back problems. From our first session, she took the time to find out exactly what my specific concerns and needs were. She has worked with me, trained me, and taught me how strength training is vital for my back and total body.

Over the past two years, Niki has developed my routine into an overall weight training session.  I am trying to achieve new levels of improving my muscle strength, targeting specific muscles, balance and coordination, and working on a nutritional guideline…all helping me to achieve my health and fitness goals.

Niki is a professional in every sense. She is knowledgeable in her field. She is personable, makes the workouts fun, and is always challenging me to the next level. She is a great motivator and I always look forward to my session each week.  What makes Niki an exceptional personal trainer is she “practices what she preaches”. Niki is in fantastic shape. There are trainers…and there is Niki…the top of the personal trainer category! She exercises daily, weight trains, follows a healthy nutritious diet, and constantly stays current with all aspects related to health and fitness. I would recommend Niki as a personal trainer to anyone of all ages, all fitness levels, and all body types.  Niki is “one-in-a-million” and I thank her for helping and guiding me towards being a more fit and healthy person!
